So excited to join the 52 Project group on the Beautiful Beasties Network!

My first post is for the topic “Mood.”

I had a session with 3 Basset Hounds in studio this past weekend – (L-R) Rosie, Special Agent Timothy McGee, and The Barefoot Contessa.
Rosie is the group senior and very calm so I was delighted that I caught her playful mischief-making mood that struck during our shoot.

Killer Bs

Meet Busy, Bumble and Bee — aka The Killer Bs. I had a blast with these precious girls (and their mom!) during our shoot.

After our session, I got an email from mom:
“Thanks for spending the day with us. We’re exhausted!” with this picture attached — it made my day!

Millie in the Studio

My little dog Millie is truly the reason I am a dog photographer. It was my 365 Days of Millie blog years ago that caused me to fall in love with dog photography. Millie is the best little model and will do just about anything I ask as long as there’s a treat involved. After a quick run to the pet store for a new outfit (collar), a new tiny tennis ball and some well-deserved treats, we went to my studio to test out a new lens.

Funny, sweet Gavin found a treasure during our shoot — a touch football flag! He had such a blast with his new found toy and we were so entertained with his enthusiasm. I couldn’t resist getting some action shots…

You haven’t lived until…

…you’ve had a session with six(!) Hairless Chinese Cresteds. What an incredible breed! I admit I was a bit overwhelmed and had a little trouble keeping them straight (have we shot this one? oh, how about this one? you sure we got that one?) but by the time I finished editing, I had a better handle on who’s who. They each had their own adorable personality, and despite the sheer number of dogs (there were actually 2 more non-cresteds for a total of 8 dogs), there was a calm harmony in the group – even when we pulled out treats! And it was so entertaining to learn that the elegant upholstered chair we used for the pup’s shoot was from the estate sale of a local well-know former CEO who’s serving some time – I got such a kick out of that!

Apparently this is the boss of the group. (I kept calling her Cindy-Loo-Hoo during our session – so cute!)

Hard to believe this little cutie is 15 years old! Jojo was a precious little lady during our session and she was decked out in pink accessories (pink collar, pink leash, pink water bowl… ) My Millie would be jealous…

The Girls

Lexi & Zoe are such beautiful and well-behaved Weimaraners and a dog photographer’s dream to work with.
We spent a lovely afternoon together – these two were perfect little ladies the entire time. Thank you girls for making my job so fun!

Do they come any better than this? Moe & Ziggy are rescues who worked their session like hired pros. I had a hard time putting my camera down – they just kept the cuteness coming. Such a treat to spend a Sunday afternoon with these two. I think in a former life they might have been models…
